Strong and sturdy. Excellent thickness of Tava, good heat distribution. The product still had some amount of black powder coating when it arrived so am not very sure whether it was pre seasoned. Anyway I took the pre caution of doing a three step instant seasoning. First step to rub it with oil and salt on all sides, it takes time and a lot of effort as you see blackness coming out. Second step to rub lots of flaxseed oil on it and third step to rub oil on it with onion. And soon after that I used the tava to make dosas. First few times tava worked ok but as I am continuing to use it, is really getting better with every usage. Also everytime at the start of use I season it with oil and then once I start making dosas I cool it down after every dosa, they are coming out very nice. Batter consistency is also important if you want crispy ones. I had been wanting to buy an iron skillet for so long. Very happy with this purchase.
