I have bought 2.5 ltr and 1.5 ltr cast iron vessels.
Both are strong and thick and when u touch them grey color sticks on your hands.
As per my mom's auggestion I have scrubbed the vessels with sand and water for 20 minutes daily for 2 days and boiled salt water for 5 minutes and scrubbed with soap and scrubber, the grey matter will be released when you wash after this process. You can apply oil at night and leave them. I have cooked the vegetable peels for 2 days by adding little oil to make sure the grey matter doesnt stick to food you cook. Keep scubbing in between and heat a while and season with oil.
Once the veg peels doesnt change into grey color , you are ready to go, enjoy the healty and tasty cooking in the cast iron pans. Loving it. thanks sparkenzy
